課程概述 |
人類學與社會學習慣將族群與移民視為兩個不同的研究主題或是課程，也各有獨立的期刊。這一學科眼光下，我們忽略了兩者的關連，也就是人口遷徙改變一地/國的人口組成，而可能出現族裔的分類概念。移民在許多社會都是一個普遍的現象，人口流動因而重新分配資源。不論是城鄉或跨越國界都有這樣的企圖與效果。遷徙的人群都面臨在新家/家鄉/國重新建立社會位置的挑戰而努力，祖籍或國籍是一可依賴的網絡，甚至維持了雙重身分。遷徙的事實是個一次性的身分或者社會的分類概念延續到後代身上? |

課程目標 |
本課程整合不同規模的遷徙型態，連結起城鄉之間以及跨國的人口流動現象，而嘗試由此一不同的視野重新思索社會的人群分類。現實中我們往往採用矛盾或說變動的概念面對自身移出與他人移入的現象。這種彈性也呈現在第一代與其後代上。 |

課程要求 |
上課以討論為主。選課同學需有三周將閱讀所得應用在自己的研究材料上寫就一份兩千字內的報告。分別於10/25,11/22與12/20上傳繳交。第八周時將有一場以台灣遷徙經驗為主的討論。由同學分主題負責引言。學期結束前每一選課同學須做期末論文之口頭報告,並於課程結束後一周(1/10)上傳15頁的報告。
